The Story of the Proton Saga Franchise
The Proton Saga is an excellent science fiction book written by Arthur C Clarke. It is set in the year 2021 and follows the life of Tom Price, a British citizen with an amazing ability to move his hands. He accidentally implants a device in his brain that allows him to control his hands with thought, which leaves him with an amazing ability to manipulate objects. As he begins to use this newfound power, he discovers other people with strange abilities and begins investigating these cases. His curiosity takes him to investigate the tragic death of his own mother and his strange abilities which lead him to proton Island and his final encounter with Lord Satan. The novel starts out with a bang as the first-person narrator introduces us to Tom Price. He is studying for an exam and has just one night free before he has to get up and leave to go home. One night he gets a phone call from his mum who is frantic and says that her son has been in a car crash. She tells him that he had a vision of a huge explosion on the side of the road which has killed his parents and one of his friends. Tom Price arrives at his mum's house to find it has been devastated and rushes in to find his mother badly injured. Tom goes straight to Mina who is in bed and comforts her and then goes to find his father who is lying on the floor. He is badly burnt and barely has time to say his final goodbye to his wife before he goes back to the hospital. Mina then tells her friend Jane who goes to fetch a doctor and she ends up trapped in the proton realm. Jane is put into a cell and told to stay there while she recovers. She is told that if she does not come back before eight months, then her spirit will be trapped in the proton realm and cannot return. Tom returns home and finds his mum and dad are both badly burned and are pronounced dead. He then realizes that his mum's energy has moved on to her daughter and that she is stuck in the proton realm due to the fact that her lifeforce transferred her over to this new realm. After hearing this, Tom gets out of his crystal ball and sees that his mum is in a coma. He then realizes that his actions when raising her were to make her happy and that he should not have killed her. Tom gets out a new crystal ball and as he is leaving, he realizes that his actions were to take her back to a good place. The next book in the Proton Saga franchise, Dark Matters, sees Tom returned to the main plot, which is now centered around his daughter. This book starts when she realizes that her parents were killed by a cultist. They then find themselves in the middle of a fight between their enemy and their ally. Tom has to save his sister and fight his enemies while also saving her. As they fight their way through the book they learn more about each other and the people around them. Eventually, the book comes to an end with the main conflict being solved. The next book in the series, Final Abyss, sees the whole family reunited. A new set of problems arises when one of the characters goes into a coma. The novel takes the whole family into space where they encounter a race of Decepticons. The Decepticons are controlled by someone who has control over their minds and bodies with a crystal ball. The last book in the new series, Birthright, sees the entire family reunited on Earth and Tom gets a vision of his future. The Decepticons are going to attack Earth and only three of the Autobots and two of the humans can prevent this. As this takes place, Tom and his friends must use their combined abilities to help the humans get back to safety and keep the Autobots out of Earth. The proton machine that was the central theme of the first four books in the Proton Saga series has now been assimilated into the human and Cybertron species. The humans are now attempting to create life but are creating a mass of primitive robots which will go into battle with the Autobots. This leads to a big war between the Autobots and the Decepticons. In the end, the Autobots win and rule over the humans with a combination of technology and telekinetic power. The Autobots send a transmission to every Cybertronian on the planetary map and instruct them to go to earth and merge with the humans. The humans do as they are told and merge with the other species and the end result is the creation of the first Transformer Robots.
